Surf, Skate & Create with Lou Smith

Surf, skate and create is an immersive art workshop that combines elements of street art and surf art to inspire creativity, promote sustainability and to celebrate our coastal surroundings. Throughout the workshops you'll learn various street art techniques, painting your own skate decks and discovering the sustainable practice of upcycling and repurposing surfboards. With final skate deck designs and surfboard art completed, You are invited to share your creation in an end of term exhibit.

Venue: Newman Senior Technical College, Boundary Street, Port Macquarie

When: Term 4, Week 1. This is an 8 week Course, each Wednesday starting 11th October until Wednesday 29th November, 2023.

Time: 3.45pm - 5.15pm

Cost: $160 for 8 weeks ($20 p/w)

Bio: Lou Smith is an Australian artist based in NSW. Inspired by her coastal surroundings and active surfing lifestyle, she is constantly evolving her style and discovering new ways to share her pieces of paradise with you. Lou is conscious of including sustainability throughout her art practice by upcycling surfboards, surf fins and old canvas' and if you're lucky you can even find her artworks dotted around locally in business' and public spaces.

All Wednesday Nest Workshops are available for all students from Mackillop College, St Joseph’s Regional College and Newman Senior Technical College - regardless of what school they attend.  ANY Student can attend ANY workshop at ANY location, regardless of what school they attend.

Parents are to organise transport for students from school, to venue and pick up.
