Short Films 101 with Jordan Frith

If you've ever had a desire to delve into the world of short film creation, then look no further than this class! Designed to cater to beginners without any prior experience, this course will take you through the entire process from pre to post production. Together with your friends, you'll learn the art of crafting a captivating short film.

Creating a film can be an intensive undertaking, but this class is here to provide you with guidance throughout every stage of the filmmaking process. By the end of the term, you'll have a film that you and your friends can treasure forever. Whether you're inclined towards a specific genre or open to exploring new territories, this class is the perfect starting point or continuation of your filmmaking journey.

Venue: St Joseph's Regional College, 1 College Dr, Port Macquarie

Location: TBC

When: Term 4, Week 1. This is an 8 week course, each Wednesday starting 11th October, finishing Wednesday 6th December 2023. (Courses will not run during week 8 at St Joseph’s Regional College, due to the Regional College Display Night)

Time: 3.45pm - 5.15pm

Cost: $160 for 8 weeks ($20 p/w)

Bio: Jordan has been a passionate filmmaker since creating home videos with his siblings as a kid, and developed that passion through creating short films with friends on his YouTube channel during high school. In 2018 and 2019 Jordan ran Screen Acting Workshops through TheatreOZ and also assisted Tim Maddren with 14 filmmaking workshops around the area for the Nextwave Youth Film Festival. In 2020 and 2021, Jordan taught filmmaking at Summer Camps in North Carolina, USA.

All Wednesday Nest Workshops are available for all students from Mackillop College, St Joseph’s Regional College and Newman Senior Technical College - regardless of what school they attend.  ANY Student can attend ANY workshop at ANY location, regardless of what school they attend.

Parents are to organise transport for students from school, to venue and pick up.
