Throughout this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of singing and apply these techniques to different styles of music including pop, musical theatre and hymn style. Each week we will go through different warm ups, techniques and various styles of music so you can put your new skills into practice! Learn to sing as a group and also as a soloist where you will all have the opportunity to perform individually in front of each other in the last weeks.
Venue: MacKillop College, Senior Campus, Lochinvar Place, Port Macquarie

When: Term 4, Week 1. This is an 8 week Course, each Wednesday starting 11th October until Wednesday 29th November, 2023.
School Holidays: Workshops will not run during the school holidays.
Time: 3.45pm - 5.15pm
Cost: $120 for 8 weeks ($15 p/w)
Bio: Emma Highlands is a professionally trained singer who has been involved in numerous productions participating in the Opera Australia Children’s Choir, The Players Theatre and has been involved in a number of Got Ya Back Productions. She has completed AMEB vocal exams and has extensive experience in performing on stage and competing in eisteddfods. Emma studied Drama and Music 1 for her HSC and received an Encore nomination for music. Her experience with drama and music will not only give students the opportunity to learn how to sing but how to perform as well.
All Wednesday Nest Workshops are available for all students from Mackillop College, St Joseph’s Regional College and Newman Senior Technical College - regardless of what school they attend. ANY Student can attend ANY workshop at ANY location, regardless of what school they attend.
Parents are to organise transport for students from school, to venue and pick up.
