My artwork 'In The Wheat Field' is based on the movie ‘Call Me By Your Name’, where the main characters Elio and Oliver discover each other’s feelings in a wheatfield. This took inspiration from Monet’s impressionist style, as the Elio in the novel quotes “This is the spot where Monet came to paint”. I wanted to recreate the ephemeral, but lasting feeling this narrative gave me; which revolves around a first love for the summer.
